Music, Drama and Visual Arts are a vital part of life at ISB. Apart from the intrinsic value of these activities at all levels, we believe that artistic expression enriches our understanding of the world and helps students learn the dispositions for a successful and fulfilled life: collaboration; shared responsibility; focus and the importance of dedication and performance.
Description
A collection of young people, seemingly without purpose or cause, are trapped in a monotonous cycle; souls adrift in a sea of meaninglessness. Their journey is a bleak, repetitive ritual, each day a carbon copy of the last. They question the very fabric of life itself, remembering a wisp of a world before, their voices echoing with a profound sense of futility. Is this a twisted science experiment? A shelter from an unseen cataclysm? A fever dream fuelled by cakes, tea, and the quiet horror of nuclear bombs? Or are they simply stuck inside someone's head, lost in a labyrinth of thought? Or are they just looking for mother?
Lovin' It is a hilarious and unsettling exploration of what it means to be alive when life itself seems utterly pointless. New Zealand playwright Jo Randerson encompasses the Theatre of the Absurd, where it isn't just a style, it's a suffocating, hilarious, inescapable reality.
